Music (Specialisation)

Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma

Music (Specialisation) has the option of a number of streams – Composition, Performance, Musicology or Orchestral Studies. The streams of Composition and Performance can be continued through to Master of Music Studies. The stream of Orchestral Studies has strong links with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO).

The program aims to provide students with high level skills in their area of specialisation, with advanced skills as performers or composers and a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of repertoire and musical concepts.

The Conservatorium of Music offers students an integrated music education based on best international contemporary arts practice. Live music making is at the core of the Conservatorium's activities.

To qualify for admission applicants will need a relevant undergraduate degree, music qualifications, interview and audition.

 

Graduate Certificate in Music (Specialisation)

Location - Hobart
Fees - Commonwealth Supported
Intake - February and July
Duration - Minimum 0.5 years (1 sem), maximum 1 years (2 sem)

Students are required to complete a core unit from one of the four streams offered:

In addition to one elective selected from a wide range of units.

Fees - Commonwealth Supported
Intake - February and July
Duration - Minimum 1 year (2 sem), maximum 2 years (4 sem)
